Before you can attend a trip, you will need to complete the club’s Driver Awareness Program.
This includes both a theory component and a practical session, and only takes a few hours.
Our experienced driver awareness officer will cover convoy procedures and various driving conditions, which can include driving in mud, sand, on steep slopes, stall starts and water crossings.

We will also cover recovery techniques and the type of recovery gear you should have. We also advise on vehicle accessories, general equipment and camping gear.
There is no need to have a fully accessorised 4WD to start with, however, a UHF radio and basic recovery and safety gear will be needed on all regular club trips.
Further instruction and guidance (if required) is given on trips.
